WHERE WE CAME FROM
BES+Tech began as an offshoot from Building Energy Sciences, LLC. Building Energy Sciences, LLC. (BES) was formed in 2007 to provide building commissioning, energy consulting, and systems analysis. While providing these services, BES began developing systems manuals as required by both our clients and LEED®. We quickly found that hard bound systems manuals limited the amount of information we could provide to our clients. So, we began developing an interactive PDF systems manual to allowed us to keep all of the information required by our clients and to make it easier for search and navigation. Soon we found that the features we wanted to provide including 3D lookup, interactive navigation, persistent and centralized facility and equipment data were not achievable using a PDF viewer alone. We quickly began developing an interactive desktop based systems manual in 2011 we called E-Systems Manual. In 2012 we began delivering it clients for all of our enhanced commissioning projects. It provided everything we were looking for through interactivity, near real-time building performance data charting, maintenance tracking and centralized facility and equipment data.
While effective, it was costly and time consuming to develop each project specific E-Systems Manual desktop application. Being a stand-alone desktop application, updates were difficult to deliver and thus, keeping all applications up-to-date was difficult.
In an effort to solve our previous challenges and expand the performance section of E-Systems Manual, we started the company BES Plus Tech, LLC. to focus solely on developing a new set of web based platforms, Performance Plus, Systems Plus and Commissioning Plus.
WHERE WE ARE AT TODAY
Over the past year and a half three distinct, web based software platforms were developed by BES+Tech: Performance Plus (P+), Systems Plus (S+) and Commissioning Plus (Cx+). Special consideration has been made to ensure all three distinct platforms share information structure, properties, documents, and assets. The ability to enter information once for one platform and share that information and data among our other distinct applications is one major feature which sets BES+Tech products apart from our competitors. This allows information to be passed from Cx+ early on in the project, to P+ for the entire project life-cycle. At any given point in the project life-cycle, the facilities and systems can be monitored. S+ can also be implemented to provide project documentation, which is made available for future maintenance staff, facility management personnel, and even future projects. The ability to enter data once and have it available through the life of the building saves time, money, and frustration.
Besides a fully realized and designed software system for handling data, BES+Tech products have been developed to allow our providers to handle the data and document setup for their clients using their own staff. Our tools are built to allow commissioning and systems analysis teams easy access for setting up and inputting their projects data, properties, documents, logs, etc. Through the use of our tools, providers and ourselves are able to quickly and cost effectively track building performance, setup commissioning documentation, and document building properties, PDFs, images, and other data.
Now that our platforms are web based they are easily accessible to a wide range of devices. Because our platforms are built on the latest web based technologies, BES+Tech portals can display documentation and performance data on devices from ranging from TVs to phones and tablets. Updates can now be pushed frequently and the platforms are typically updated with new features weekly.
We are currently at a great place with a strong foundation on current technologies which allows us to continue to expand our features at a quick pace.

Although BES+Tech platforms are currently feature packed, we have a huge schedule of new and innovative features which we believe will truly separate us from our competitors. Now is the time to begin developing your projects with BES+Tech products. Starting from our base libraries your company will be able to add customized checklists, tests, maintenance items, systems symptoms, systems diagnostics and reports which you can use to continue to grow.
